Alessia Grace Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Deep red with bright violet hues. Plenty of berry fruits on the aroma including red currant, blood plum and blueberry. Smoky notes touching on tarry leather and spice. The palate entry is rich, full and broad with a lovely gritty tannin palate finish. Fruit tannin sweetness along with the 14% alcohol sweet-spot creates balance but also has a latent pressings "chewyness" to it that will settle with time in the bottle. Definitely one for the cellar and will reward anyone that can wait.

This is what we have always been about, sourcing the best quality wines we can, crafted by industry greats like Pete Bissell and sourced from premium select parcels from renowned growers. Being involved in the creation of our wines from GRAPE TO TABLE. And importantly, getting it to your door at an incredible price, in fact, less than half the cost of the supermarket equivalent label.
This is why I enjoy coming to work!
Cheers David.

  • More Information
  • Made by an Australian Winemaker of the year, Pete Bissell from Balnaves, this Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon was initially going to be a soft drink now style, however, the quality of the 2014 vintage has set the bench mark high and it hit the Reserve grade passing all expectations. Punching well above its weight, this Cab Sauv is 100% Coonawarra, and pure Cab except for a teeny weeny 1% Petit Verdot pressings which surprisingly adds a bright violet note to the colour in the glass. Bottled as the current vintage, the wine shows stunning depth and breeding as you would expect from the pure essence of Coonawarra. These Cabernet wines are what made the region famous and this wine surely upholds the tradition. Looking very sexy as it is at the moment, you will be rewarded with time in the bottle and has potential for even more greatness over the coming years.

Great Classic Coonawarra Cab and Cheap Review by Gary Bains
Coonawarra Cabernet is my favourite region and varietal, this is our second dozen, I was very surprised at how good this was for the normal $16 price, not one to write reviews but this wine deserved it. (Posted on 14/04/2016)
